This month we had our 1st South Bay Pet Parade! We had 11 dogs participate and they were kind and brought their owners along. The weather was beautiful, we had great music and we even had residents choose to observe and cheer us on with stuffed dogs cheering on from the balcony. This brought some great laughs!
Happy Easter from Shem Creek Health Center! We have had a busy day- Easter egg hunt and party for our memory care residents, staff Easter egg hunt, room to room visits with the Easter bunny and then ended the day with a concert with one of our favorites- Louie D!
South Bay and Shem Creek are excited to participate in this year’s Parkinson’s Moving Day Walk next month. Last week, residents enjoyed Happy Hour on our back patio with New Orleans Jazz music. We enjoyed cocktails, crab over dirty rice and beignets. We moved inside for our delicious Creole meal prepared by our dining staff!
Last week, Shem Creek residents celebrated African American history week. Residents received sweetgrass roses during happy hour. Staff and residents learned about African American inventors and represented them with “Who Am I?” nametags. We had adopt-a-furry-friend day thanks to Crescent Hospice, enjoyed “Cupid floats,” received cards and Valentine’s from our friends at Mamie P Whitesides Elementary, our memory care residents enjoyed making rice krispy hearts, and our awesome staff enjoyed a delicious potluck lunch.
