Retirement Looks Good Through a Camera Lens

For South Bay resident Bill Rogers, retirement has provided the perfect opportunity to pursue his passion. A talented photographer, Bill often begins his day walking the community grounds with his dog, Watson, camera in hand, capturing the remarkable wildlife and natural beauty that make South Bay unique.

The community is proud of its expansive campus, which includes a protected bald eagle nest, a pond that attracts waterfowl, and frequent sightings of otters, deer, osprey, owls, foxes, and other wildlife despite its urban setting. Among Bill’s favorite subjects is the resident bald eagle pair that has become one of South Bay’s most distinctive natural treasures.

This is the beauty residents of South Bay wake up to every single day.

Originally, Bill compiled a limited-edition photo book for his family, but after sharing a copy with the community, leadership recognized the exceptional quality of his work. South Bay partnered with Bill to create a special edition book for prospective and new residents, showcasing the landscapes and wildlife that define daily life at the community.
