South Bay Residents Answered The Call
April 8, 2020
South Bay Residents heard there was a need for more gowns for nurses providing care and went to work. They brought their sewing machines down to the Art Room and set up stations. They began by cutting shower curtains to pattern from a lesson on YouTube and then completed the stitching on the machines. The beauty of the shower curtains is they are easy to wipe off and clean. Residents were very grateful to have this purposeful project and said it is helping them cope with this Pandemic as well.
Studies show that seniors who stay socially active and engaged experience a variety of benefits. Social activities keep us sharp and mentally focused. Connecting with others helps us maintain good emotional health by boosting our mood. On New Year’s Eve, South Bay Residents gathered early for cocktails and hot tapas enjoying music by Tom Little and Trio. The celebration evening also included a wonderful Filet and Lobster menu prepared by Chef Nick and Dining Team. We bid farewell to 2019 and welcomed 2020 over delicious Baked Alaska and a champagne toast.
Brookgreen Trip 2019 We are so excited to share our first Overnight trip photos of the residents. This time of year is so alive and festive. They were having such a wonderful time! Spending time together definitely creates closer friendships and lifetime memories.
Coastal Bell Singers were with us last evening. They got us in the spirit of the holidays with songs like White Christmas and Silent Night. And, then who should appear….Santa, of course.
